Biography: Alan Brookes – Group Operations and Finance
Alan Brookes was appointed to the Group
Board of EC Harris on 1st May 2007. He was asked to take on the
role from March 2007 being promoted from his position as the Group
General Manager. Alan is one of the four Executive Officers of EC
Harris who collectively are responsible for the performance of the
business across the world.
Alan’s particular responsibilities include the
Operations Managers in each region with specific responsibility for
financial performance and performance improvement. He is also
responsible for the Group Support Services functions which further
include Marketing, IT, Group Legal Services, Purchasing,
Communication and the Programme Office.
In 2004 he became Regional Managing Partner for the UK including
19 offices outside London and prior to this was Regional Managing
Partner for the West of the UK.
Alan joined EC Harris in May 2000 when the company of which he
was Chairman, Povall Flood & Wilson, was successfully acquired
by EC Harris. Alan led Povall Flood & Wilson for a period of
three years prior to which he was Managing Partner of Povall
Worthington, a company with whom he led a successful merger with
Flood & Wilson to form the above organisation. Alan’s career
started in 1984 when he graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic
working his way up within the organisation to Managing Partner.
Alan was born in Chester and read Building Surveying at
Liverpool Polytechnic. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of
Chartered Surveyors.
