A brief history

EC Harris was established in 1911, over 90 years ago.

1950s – 1970s
Since the 1950s, when the firm was largely property based, it has developed its major civil engineering and infrastructure expertise which enabled a comprehensive blend of experience and skills across all major sectors and industries to be assembled.  

1980s – 1990s
During this time, the firm began operating internationally, developing a cultural awareness as well as professional knowledge and expertise.

In 1986 the firm led the European industry by introducing facilities management consultancy services and in 1996 it became the first capital project and facilities consultancy to deliver projects around the whole asset lifecycle. 

Since 1999 this successful approach has been focused on developing the role of the traditional consultancy even further to deliver better value results for clients, from the creation and operation of their assets.  Our reputation for helping to make our clients more successful is now widely established.

2000s
In November 2003, the firm became a limited liability partnership (LLP). This has given us the opportunity of restructuring into a modern internationally suitable corporate entity whilst retaining the key cultural aspects of a partnership that we, and our clients, value so highly. We have tripled the number of our 'owner' partners and by spreading the ownership of the business we are achieving maximum motivation of our key people

In December 2008, we launched our new identity – EC Harris Built Asset Consultancy – to better reflect our offer to clients and how we’ve evolved to meet their needs.
