RSS - Find Out More

What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is simply a web feed format used to publish frequently updated content, like News.

So rather than spending hours trawling dozens of sites for News and information you want, you can subscribe to an RSS feed and the latest news and features are delivered directly to you.

RSS takes the trouble out of staying up-to-date, by providing you with the very latest information direct to your desktop.

How do I use an RSS feed?

The first thing you will need is a news reader. This is a simple piece of software that checks RSS feeds and lets you read any new article that has been added to them.

If you visit www.newsonfeeds.com/faq/aggregators you will find a complete list of web-based news readers from desktop news aggregators to Microsoft Windows readers and plug-ins for Firefox, Outlook and there are even news aggregators for mobile devices.  Most web browsers now also include RSS readers.

Once you have chosen a news reader, all you need to do is decide what content you want to receive and subscribe to the relevant RSS feed.

Most sites that offer RSS feeds use the orange RSS button. If you click on the button you can subscribe to the feed, by copying the URL of the RSS feed into your news reader.
