As the demand for energy increases
and additional sources are provided from renewable energy the
pressure on the power distribution network grows. The National Grid
has estimated that the current network built in the 50's and 60's
will have to increase its capacity by 25% to take account of wind
power alone. This increase in capacity, combined with new
connections, is the largest programme of work to hit the sector for
years.
In recognising that it is a regulated sector EC
Harris addresses the market need to balance regulatory
and environmental pressures with those of financial
stakeholders, whilst optimising clients' capital and operational
expenditure, asset performance and asset ownership.
The need to implement programmes of works and
complete on time and within budget is a key factor. EC Harris works
with clients to realise their strategic goals through regulatory
reviews, programme delivery strategy, implementation and programme
management.
