EC Harris Appoints New Corporate Recovery &
Insolvency Team Lead
20 September 2011
EC Harris has recruited Stewart Martin to
lead the firm’s Corporate Recovery and Insolvency team.
Stewart, who joins from Savills, has over 30 years experience
providing lenders, landlords and tenants with professional advice
across the residential and commercial property markets.
EC Harris’s Corporate Recovery and Insolvency team works with EC
Harris’s banking and insolvency practitioner clients to provide
independent advice to maximise the value of their distressed
assets.
Stewart has considerable experience in providing clients with
strategic reviews of their distressed assets and implementing
recommendations for maximising value recovery. He has been
involved in LPA Receiverships since the early 1990’s and has worked
on a wide range of asset types including shopping centres and high
street retail, office, industrial, residential and development
sites. He is an RICS Registered Property Receiver and RICS
Registered Valuer. Stewart will be based at the firm’s
headquarters in London.
Commenting on Stewart’s appointment, Martin Cannon, Head of
Asset Investment & Finance at EC Harris said: “Stewart’s
appointment enables us to build substantially on the service
offering for our clients in the context of strategic workouts and
LPA Receiverships. Stewart and his team will focus on value and
achieving the best possible outcomes for our clients.”
Stewart Martin said, “The banks have been working very hard over
the last few years to deleverage, although outstanding debt remains
historically high with short term maturities significant in the
face of the continued limited availability of new lending.
This means that our clients need the very best commercial advice
available, and EC Harris is able to provide that. I am
delighted to be taking this exciting opportunity to employ my
experience with the best in class built asset skills and experience
of EC Harris.”
Stewart’s team operates within the firm’s Asset Investment &
Finance group, fully benefitting from multi-disciplinary support
including Property & Facilities Management, Investment
Management, Development Management and Financial Analysis &
Modelling. EC Harris is not driven towards the disposal of
assets, which is handled by best-in-class third party agents.
