EC Harris Appoints JLL to Central Square, Leeds

Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed by
EC Harris as the agent for the Central Square development in Leeds.
Central Square is the new commercial development located on the
former Lumiere site in the heart of Leeds city centre. The
development comprises some 262,000ft² of new commercial office
space.
The scheme, which was recently submitted for planning, is being
promoted by EC Harris as the Asset Manager on behalf of the
Liquidators Deloitte.
Jones Lang LaSalle has been appointed as agents to test the
market with a view to capitalising both on occupier demand and to
identify a development partner. Very positive levels of interest
are already being shown.

The site has, due to the previous failed development, been subject

The proposed scheme comprises two buildings of approximately
89,000ft² and 173,000ft² arranged over 8 and 11 floors, which front
both Wellington Street and Whitehall Road and surround a central
public open space. The focus of the scheme is top quality Grade A
office accommodation, with the potential to accommodate a hotel in
the smaller building and retail on ground floor facing onto the
public realm. It is hoped that planning permission will be
granted before the end of 2012.
